Loxley School Fundraising Association

Small actions + Lots of people = Big change

A Message from the Chair of the LSFA

The first thing to note is that the photo above is of a group of pupils enjoying our Halloween disco (an LSFA event) - not the LSFA themselves - they are not that scary! The Loxley School Fundraising Association (LSFA) is an organisation that acts as a Parent Teacher Association for Loxley Primary School. It is made up of all parents and carers from across the school, some of whom are actively involved in organising events and some of whom support the organised activities by attending them or making donations. We usually meet three times a year and everyone is welcome to attend these meetings.

The LSFA has two main purposes. Firstly we aim to put on a series of events over the course of each year which are fun for children and families in school and enrich school life. The second (and usually concurrent) purpose is to raise funds to support school to purchase items that go beyond the usual school budget.

In a typical year LSFA events include a summer and Christmas Fair, a Halloween Disco, Easter Egg hunt, selling flowers for Mother’s Day and various cake sales. We have also facilitated things like class photographs and organise events like carols in the woods at Christmas time. The LSFA has raised an incredibly impressive amount to support school over the course of its existence; last year alone over £10,000 was raised! The money raised goes back into school through close consultation with the pupils and staff to see where it is most needed. We try to ensure that a range of year groups benefit from the money, as well as making sure that different interests and curriculum areas are also covered. Over the last few years, new interactive teaching panels in the classrooms, sports kits for various teams, an adventure playground, wet play time equipment and new playground markings have all been funded (to name but a few!).

If you would like to get involved with LSFA activities or have any suggestions for things we can do to further meet our aims, please do not hesitate to get in touch at loxleyschoolfundraising@gmail.com
