Welcome to Loxley Primary School!
We are delighted that you are sending your child to Loxley Primary; we strive to make all parents and children feel welcomed into our school. As parents you are your child’s first teacher and we hope that the learning process can be a partnership.
Introduction to the school
We currently have 211 children on roll. These are organised into 7 classes over three phases: Foundation stage (Reception), KS1 (Years 1 and 2) and KS2 (Years 3, 4, 5 and 6).
Mrs. Sue Benson is our Reception teacher and is available to answer any questions you may have about our provision - please contact her via the School office. She is supported in class by Mrs. Angela Yhearm and Mrs. Cheryl DiGregorio.
In the School Office we have Mrs Sophie Feather and Mrs Jessica Capper (Administration Officers) who will be able to advise you on any queries about the admissions application process, uniform, letters etc.
The school day begins at 8:50am and ends at 3:20pm, however children can come into class from 8.40am.
Children spend part of each session with their class teachers in a group learning activity and then for some of the day the doors are opened and they can choose freely from a range of activities both indoor and out of doors.
If you have been offered a place for your child, you will be sent a pack detailing how we intend to make sure that your child’s transition into school is as smooth as possible. You will be invited to a parents' meeting to meet the staff team and hear information from other contributors about matters such as school meals and attendance. At this meeting a home visit will be arranged for two members of the Reception team to come and meet you and your child – this is an excellent opportunity to discuss any additional needs / concerns that you may have about them starting school.
There will be the opportunity for your child to come into school on two occasions in the Summer term and then in September the children will be inducted in groups of 10 – your child’s starting date will be allocated at the parents' meeting.
Uniform - we sell uniform through the school office- order forms are available from the magazine rack outside the school office or are downloadable from the 'School Uniform' page on this website.
